TOUR | NUMBERS 11 Image Credit: Stuart Franklin / Getty Images Go Figure MOMENTS THAT COUNT 2 - SPIETH JOINS NICKLAUS After winning the Open Championship, Jordan Spieth joined Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win three different majors at age 23. 5-FIVEOFTHEBEST Spieth’s five under par for the final five holes was the best closing five holes in Open history by a winner—surpassing the four under by Henrik Stenson last year. 5 - JORDAN JOINS ELITE GROUP Spieth becomes only the fifth player to win The Open with four rounds in the 60s after Greg Norman (1983), Nick Price (1994), Tiger Woods (2000) and Henrik Stenson (2016). Only nine players have shot four rounds in the 60s in Open history. 62 - AMAZING GRACE South African Branden Grace posted a 62 in the third round of The Open Championship. In the previous 442 majors, the lowest score ever recorded was 63 (31 times). 63 - LI’S HISTORIC ROUND Haotong Li fired a final round 63 at Royal Birkdale to finish in third place—the best finish at a major championship by a Chinese man.
