16 TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: DAY 8: Thursday December 28 ROYAL WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB We’ve pulled some strings. On this day you’ll play the exclusive, members-only, Royal Wellington—proud host of seven New Zealand Open Championships. The course is the first golf club to have received Royal status in New Zealand. Situated alongside the Hutt River near Silverstream, the superb layout weaves its way through cultivated parkland hosting thousands of mature native and exotic trees. Birdlife is abundant. Several creeks and a large lake are all in play and present a true challenge for the adventurous. DAY 11: Sunday December 31 FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK On this day the ship will wind its way through the mythical Fiordland National Park. It is New Zealand’s largest and most impenetrable wilderness. It forms a jagged and densely forested landmass ribbed with deeply recessed fiords cutting through towering mountains. It is awe-inspiring and an all-day scenic cruise experience. Wake up as the ship enters the Dusky Sound with its beautiful landscape of sheer rocky cliffs anchored in indigo waters. At the heart of Fiordland National Park lies Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. Lined by cliffs that soar nearly a mile above its surface, Milford Sound cuts into the heart of the Southern Alps. Rainforest clings to the cliffs and graceful waterfalls plummet into the void. Mile-high Mitre Peak dominates the upper reaches of the sound. DAY 11: Sunday December 31 NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS Princess ships welcome each new year in style with a fun-filled New Year’s Eve party complete with music, confetti, balloon drop and, of course, ‘bubbly’ to join the ship staff in a toast to the arrival of January 1. Start the celebrations with a refreshing cocktail to toast the dawn of a new year and celebrate the night away...
