With that, the International Team’s chance to win the Presidents Cup in South Korea disappeared. Lahiri, aged 28, and American Chris Kirk were all-square entering the 18th hole. Lahiri’s 4-foot birdie putt lipped out, allowing Kirk to escape with a 1-up win and earn a vital point for his team. Team USA overcame the International Team 15.5 to 14.5 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. It was the United States sixth consecutive victory and the narrowest winning margin.
